The Oscars

I am sickened by this years Oscars...........why? Because the entire show deliberately undermines the cinematic/performance contributions of Blacks as well as other minorities in the industry but mainly blacks. Granted Ruby Dee is nominated for an Oscar but it's about time - how long has she been working??

What about Denzel and the The Great Debaters and American Gangster or Forrest Whitaker who also shared the screen with Denzel? Oh wait - I know - they won enough oscars already but the same thing keeps happening year after year. They nominate a token black actor for an Oscar just to keep up appearances and everyone goes on about their business as if enough has been done.

Minorities better wake up and look at what NBC, ABC, CBS are doing - Nothing But Caucasian, Always Broadcasting Caucasians, and Caucasian Broadcasting System. Its a joke! Black people especially need to come out of this "bling, pimp my ride, college hill mentality and see Television for what it is - EXCLUDING EVERYONE EXCEPT CAUCASIANS.

Why is it that [we] have to be recognized for our dramatic contributions by own people? More minorities win awards from sub-award ceremonies then the major awards ceremonies such as the Oscars.

This is "segregation" - entertainment style and until blacks and other minorities start speaking up and speaking out about the roles they are given and the roles that are made available to them - we will continue to get the short end of the stick.

I am SOOOOO not watching the oscars or any othe TV show that glorifies the lives of whites and calls it "must see TV" or the hottest show of the year - Im talking about Gossip Girl - you know CRAP like that.
