Switch-a-Roo

NaLonni and I are playing tricks on our readers today - she's posting to my blog over at http://www.iloveakiwi.com/ while I post here. You know, I got a real kick out of her posts about shaving her head, and her waxing debacle over at her other writing post - Cupcakes4Crisis. I totally wondered to myself if I could be so brave as to shave my head bald too. I'm half Italian, half Puerto Rican, so my curly locks don't come easy. And I can barely imagine the amount of bad hair days that will ensue while I wait for it to grow out! Judging by how I handled my adolescent years, this would not be a pretty stage. And, you know, we've all had those waxing horror stories where the dang stuff doesn't come off your nether-regions in one fell swoop, right? I know I spent an entire afternoon one time waxing my hoo-haa. You'd think I'd turn myself bald 'down there' after hours in seclusion, just me and a tub of hot wax, but I think I only managed the bikini area. That shit is painful, leave it to the pros! I also learned by trial and error that olive oil is the best way to remove unwanted wax... if only I was around to tell poor NaLonni when she decided to sit in a very hot bath after discovering that her bum cheeks were glued together! Yes, us girls go through very strange rituals to beautify ourselves. I will say that I don't like nail polish, and don't like to wear makeup (very often, if at all) so at least I have that going for me.
NaLonni and I are switching blogs today after reading about this fun challenge over at NaBloPoMo, and since I had a harder time this year participating in this forum than last, I figured it would be a great chance for me to meet a new bloggin' buddy. Since creating my blog in 2006ish, I have a few blogs that I follow regularly, and am excited to read all about NaLonni's adventures now too. I hope you enjoy my writing at http://www.iloveakiwi.com/. I think all of us writers secretly want to be as successful as Dooce, at least I do.

You are one brave women - I would never be able to wax close enough to any area on my body part; not to mention such a personal area - that area is suppose to be only happy feelings, none of this scary painful stuff. HA!
