I dont wanna grow up

Since my granny has moved back to Cali last month, Garrett and I are FOR REAL NEWLYWEDS with a 9 year old.  It is weird.  Although I am grateful for the house we live in....now we have too much space and not enough people, too many rooms and not enough furniture, too much yard and no lawn moyer to mow it.  AHHHHH!  And on top of that, I have to cook....like for real cook.  I have one of those husbands that...um likes to eat food...not just a bowl of cereal.
We have to buy EVERYTHING!  Dishes, towels, furniture, spices, small cooking appliances.....can I do this?  This is the first time in my life that I have had REAL utility bill in my name.  I say real because I dont count my cell phone.  It feels like Garrett and I just got married and we moved into our house....with nothing.  I did have fun rearranging the couple of pieces of furniture that I actually have.  Whaddya think??

Today is my hubbys birthday.  I cooked.  Again.  We had some stew meat that cutie took out and I decided to ahead and throw that in the crock pot with some:
  • seasonings
  • half an onion
  • couple cloves of garlic
  •  cream of mushroom soup and
  •  some carrots at the last minute
That should go well over some rice with peas on the side.  I also made my hubby a cake.  Now I am not the baker in this family, my lovely granny is.  BUT and this is a big but maybe all those days she baked and cooked got to me through osmosis...I made frosting for the first time last week, from scratch.

For my hubs B-day I decided to go all out and make a yellow cake with strawberry whipped cream filling and a simple frosting on the outside.  Hope it tastes good all together....wish me luck!
