So.....my neighborhood "Lake Parks" doesnt have a Homeowners Association - yay! So everyone can let their yard just be. Which brings me to our yard. So when granny left back to Cali last month, item #514, the lawn mower went with her. So we have about 3 months of yard growth that has been fed by snow and rain. Boy oh boy. It had over grown so much that the weeds were tangled in with the water hose. The lawn needed to be bulldozed - forget mowed. We had to borrow a lawn mower from one of the neighborhood kids....
I got fed up with waiting for my huby to do it - so I started it myself.....and of course he asks if I need any help *smirk-frown*, to which I replied with a raised right eyebrow and a succinct, mostly sarcastic - NOPE. I started in the back yard. Man if you have ever watched that show on A&E about what would the earth be like without people - they were talking about our backyard. The weeds back there took up residence, then brought immigrants (no offense to anyone) with them.....all these weeds that I have never seen before. TALL ONES with roots as thick as carrots.
Now I have asthma which is triggered by allergies. Just love good ole Texas......but I didn't care. My yard is a mess so I started on the small part. Our backyard is funky shaped......that is the only way I can describe it. The lot the house is on is pie shaped but because of the size of the house, it has to sit back farther on the pie slice. So picture a two story house placed near the wide lip of the pie and the lip of the pie is our backyard...yep that's it. I found some pictures on my Flickr page from before we moved in....I am so ashamed..
Now....tomorrow, I will upload pictures of what our yard - front and back - looks like now after the elements and laziness/no tools to get the job done. It is not pretty. It is shameful. It is my house.
