Wintergeddon

So on 2/3 I was in a car accident. For those of you that don't know - the Dallas/Ft. Worth area experienced HORRIBLE weather the week before the Superbowl.  My job was closed most of the week (I work for the state - unemployment - nuff said...maybe I will blog about my unemployment stories) and of course on Thursday, they decided to open late. If anyone works for the state especially the unemployment office in Texas - they NEVER close.


Anyway, I was on my way to work - on the freeway and my car hit a patch of ice and started sliding towards the part of the freeway that has no metal/cement barrier - you know I was sliding off the freeway so I turned my wheel all gentle like because I was completely calm. I have been in a car accident before...but I continued to slide. Like a hockey puck on ice. Right into the middle lane. The car in that lane didn't hit me. But I continued to slide right into the far left lane where a Dodge Ram 5100 truck, with guard rail and that stuff that looks like the metal stairs on WWE hit me. At full speed.  Kind of like that truck below...but bigger and with more.....guardrail.

He had NO damage whatsoever. My car on the other hand - just declared a total loss.

Now you can really see how bad the damage is in that picture above but that front tire is on gangsta lean and the front driver panel is completely folded in..... I had insurance BUT we just bought this car in OCTOBER 2010. Yay.  Not looking forward to this but will face it head on.

I'm alive and will be working at home soon so.....yeah.

I found out I won a contest!!!  yay!!  Prayer Notes by Cynthia gives away BEAUTIFUL inspirational bookmarks - and I won.  I almost lost because I didnt realize I won.  Note to Prior Fat Girl - give the unclamed prizes to the runner ups.  Speaking of Jen - she has a PFG store - at this moment though the store site may be down due to some shipping issues but keep checking her site - Jen is Awesome.

Jasmine at Eatmovewrite.com has a awesome writing contest every month that I entered.  I'm not going ot share my story yet until AFTER the contest is over for February though so you gotta wait and see.  Check out her blog though!  She is also an inspiration.
