Picture it, you're 8, at recess and havin a blast running from your friends while looking back over your shoulder - you know just to see how close they are to catching you. You glance once more just to see how far the others are & maybe you decide to glance just a little bit longer to laugh and tease because....they can cant catch you. Your teacher sees it all in slow motion and yells out Noooooo with her hand outstretched.....Then tragedy strikes. That tall metal pole decided to pop up and stand in your way defiantly & your eyebrow catches it head on....up pops the hematoma & the MMA inspired swelling. Eye eventually gets so black it looks like it was painted on. Then the swelling decides to drift down below the eye and now the shiner is here.
It was horrible.
Everywhere I took my baby girl people would look shocked at first, then give me the once over. And here I am trying to play extra nice.....dropping little hints to my baby girl like, "no runniing, you dont want to hit your eye again." as if that actually worked........it was embarassing and uber stressful........but now that black eye is a rainbow beauty. What's that saying about Beauty fades, but ugly is to the bone? Not so with my baby girl. The ugly faded and the beauty was to the bone. Now if I could just get her to stop telling people she got into a fight........
